Chicago Goes Modern

Today's Annoyance: Not having more time in Chicago
Mantra of the Day: Why leave the city when the world can come to you?

I was just in Chicago on a business trip entertaining clients and heard about the opening of the new Modern Wing of the Art Institute. Apparently, it has been years in the making so the city was eagerly awaiting this new attraction. The Art Institute is one of the premier art museums in the world and has an amazing permanent collection. But, now it has added modern/contemporary/avant garde works to the mix. It is definitely a hip and entertaining space that will hold your attention even if you are not an art buff.

There are also plans for beautiful high-end restaurant at the top of the modern wing of the museum. It overlooks Millennium Park and the adjoining gardens. It is truly an oasis in the middle of downtown Chicago. This is soon to be a must-see venue in Chicago in the months and years to come. If any of you has a chance to check it out, let me know what you think of it.
