Whether or not you're rolling in the dough, keep your eyes on travel rates. It doesn't make good sense to spend money unnecessarily, especially when you can find an awesome rate. (If you prefer to throw your money away, find a cheap travel rate and send the savings to me!)
AirfareWatchdog and Sidestep are two of my fave sites to find cheap airfare. You can subscribe to AirfareWatchdog to get a weekly list of cheap fares on flights leaving your local city. Sidestep searches all airline fares and tells you which site has the lowest fare for your preferred travel dates. It saves a lot of foot and guess work.
