JSTD: Credit check
"What do you mean you don't take MasterCard?" If you're traveling to a country that you've never visited before, avoid credit card surprises by contacting your hotel and/or the local tourism bureau.
Some credit cards are not widely accepted by vendors in some countries. Also, some countries' ATMs only accept up to 6-digit PIN codes. Potentially adding further hindrance to your spending spree and overall travel experience is the fact that some countries (especially developing countries) have a limited number of ATMs.
