I've come to realize that when all hell breaks loose in life, it helps to vent. Retail therapy is better but venting is less expensive! What am I venting about, you ask? Anything and everything...men, money, travel, fashion, stupid people... So, hang out awhile and enjoy the adventures of a fictional “IT” girl. You just might learn a few things. And feel free to let off some steam of your own. I'm happy to share my soapbox with you. Peace and love, Ava

It doesn't matter the time of year; always check out the weather forecast before you leave. Mother Nature doesn't always abide by seasonal rules. Accuweather is my fave weather site but any will do.

A few months ago, I advised you to carry a doorstop as an extra travel insurance policy for potential intruders. TravelSmith has been kind enough to sponsor this week's giveaway and the prize is...you guessed it, a doorstop alarm. Not only will it prevent forced entry, it packs a 100-decibel alarm that sounds off if someone tries to force open your hotel room door. That would definitely make me feel safer.New giveaway: TravelSmith Doorstop Alarm
